Finding a “cheap kids four wheeler for sale near me” is tough. To further compound the shopping challenge, some cheap childrens 4x4s are inexpensive due to a manufacturer recall. When recalled ATVs are sold in the aforementioned manner, it is illegal.

Nevertheless, the legality of a used ATV sale does not prevent people from selling cheap ATVs on Craigslist or in local yard sales. So, protect yourself by discovering which cheap youth ATVs were recalled at the end of September, 2021.

Luyuan Youth ATVs

On September 29th, 2021, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of four different Luyuan childrens ATV models. This decision was reached when the CPSC noticed the Luyuan youth four wheelers exceeded regulation speed limits for kids ATVs.

“The youth ATVs fail to comply with the requirements of the federal mandatory ATV safety standard, including maximum speed limitations and other mandatory safety requirements for vehicles intended for children under 10 years of age. ATVs that fail to meet the mandatory safety requirements pose a risk of serious injury or death to children.”

The announcement goes on to say the all terrain vehicles in question qualify for a physical update and LSV fans can “contact Luyuan for a free repair from an authorized repair shop.”

Model numbers for the recalled youth ATVs are listed below.

  • LY-ATV-40I
  • LY-ATV-40D
  • LY-ATV-40E
  • LY-ATV-40A

Luyuan ATV owners can find the model number of their youth 4 x 4 on the hang tag.

Venom Motorsports Youth ATVs

CPSC also issued an additional recall announcement for childrens ATVs on September, 29th. However, this secondary announcement was for Venom Motorsports. According to CPSC, “The Venom Motorsports youth model ATVs do not meet mandatory safety requirements, including speed restrictions, posing a risk of serious injury or death. The ATVs also were imported and distributed in the U.S. without a Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)-approved ATV Action Plan, which includes safety requirements designed to protect users.”

The press release went on to say buyers of the following Venom ATV models are due a refund.

  • Venom E-Madix, 1300w 48V E-A050 Electric, Green/White or Blue/Black
  • Venom E-Grizzly, 1500w 48V E-A07 Electric, Black/Orange or White/Orange
  • Venom Mini Madix, 110cc HX110D Gas, Black/Orange or White/Orange
  • Venom Grizzly, 125cc ATV HX125B Gas, Black/Orange or White/Orange
  • Venom Racing Madix, 125cc MADIX125 Gas, Black/Orange or White/Orange

Owners of Venom childrens all terrain vehicles can locate the model number of their ATV “on the black plate on the top of the left rear side of the tire.” ATV owners that are entitled to a refund can start the recall remedy process by visiting the 4 wheeler manufacturer website or contacting Venom Motorsports by phone.

That said, to acquire a refund the recalled kids all terrain vehicle must be sent back to Venom Motorsports. For more information about the Venom Motorsports Youth ATV recall, go here.
