Porsche, a well known automobile manufacturer, has teamed up with Rotwild to develop two new electric bikes. These bicycles, dubbed the Sport and the Cross, are considered to be luxury e bicycles worthy of the Porsche brand. Find out how this sophisticated level is reflected in the design of the new e bikes down below.

Top Tier Components

As we mentioned above, Porsche collaborated with Rotwild, ebike research and development company, to develop two ebikes. In case you are not familiar with the latter company, they are known for producing mountain bikes that were used to win World Championship Master Class titles and Olympic medals.

By leveraging this expertise, Porsche was able to develop a commuter electric bike, known as the eBike Sport, and an electric mountain bike, dubbed the eBike Cross. These e bikes share the following traits.

  • Shimano EP8 motor
  • Gets almost 16 mph
  • Porsche logo under handlebars
  • Integrated electronic gear shift and brake lines
  • Adjustable seatpost
  • Rechargeable battery has a lock
  • Start button is on the center post
  • Full-suspension carbon frame
  • Smooth continental tires
  • Magura upside-down suspension fork
  • Fox shock absorbers

In addition, both the Sport and the Cross have a 265 lbs weight limit. Now that we know what features are shared, let’s review the unique characteristics of each electric bike.

Porsche eBike Sport

Intended for the daily commute, this e bicycle is decked out with many safety features cyclists need out on the road. For example, there is a rear light that is integrated into the seatpost and a Supernova LED under the flat bar style handlebar.

The e bike cockpit area also has a color display that shows the speed, current pedal assist riding mode, and distance covered per journey. Other noteworthy features are listed below.

  • Shimano 630Wh battery
  • Aero seatpost
  • 11-speed Shimano gear set
  • Magura Cockpit Integration brakes

Cyclists can procure this 48.5 lbs commuter ebike for $10,700.02.

Porsche eBike Cross

Designed to be an e mountain bike, the Cross lacks many of the electrical features found in the Porsche Sport. As a result, this Porsche ebike variation is about two-thousand dollars less than its counterpart, and only has the following features.

  • Riser bar
  • Crankbrothers Highline 3 dropper post
  • 12-speed Shimano gear set
  • Magura MT Trail brakes
  • 47.5 lbs
  • Shimano 504Wh battery

Price for the new electric mountain bike is $8,549.97. For those that want a Porsche e bike as soon as possible, next day shipping to the United States is available for an extra $500.

That said, it is important to note Porsche has issued a warning on the check out page in regards to the Proposition 65 Warning. This alert is designed to inform consumers that a product is comprised of materials that are known to cause cancer and reproductive harm.

Those still interested in owning a Porsche eBike may want to act fast. As of typing this, all of the small size eBikes are sold out and only the large size Cross’ are available. Check out the list below for height restrictions.
