Low speed vehicles, also known as LSVs, are four wheeled devices that typically go less than 15 mph. Thanks to this criteria, Club Cars, EZ Gos, and lifted golf carts are often referred to as LSVs. Despite the aforementioned naming convention, the golf cart concept is officially extending beyond the LSV industry into motorcycle territory. Find out why below.

Introducing Finn Scooters

As we mentioned above, golf carts are traditionally known as LSVs. However, a two-wheeled device manufacturer known as Finn Scooters is changing the way golfers get around the golf course. Thanks to this quick, solo option, the concept of a golf cart has expanded to include motorcycles.

According to Rick Reimers, Finn Scooters CEO and Inventor, “It is time to rethink golf. The game is at a tipping point: the young people we need in the game don’t have 4.5 hours to spend on the course. Pairing Finn with golfers with a desire to play ready golf can cut playing time in half.”

To get a better idea of how much faster motorcycle golf carts are compared to traditional LSVs, the Finn Scooter website states it takes under 8 minutes to travel between tee locations. This works out to about 144 minutes, or a little over 2-hours, of travel on an 18-hole course. As an added bonus, motorcycle golf carts make it possible for golfers to abide CDC, or Center for Disease Control and Prevention, guidelines thanks to the solo rider design.

That said, it is important to note that motorcycle golf carts are not street legal. Therefore, LSV enthusiasts looking for a new way to cruise around the neighborhood should search online for “Bintelli golf cart” rather than Finn Scooters.

Why Finn Scooters Are Not Street Legal Golf Carts

Although referred to as a motorcycle, Finn Scooters are not street legal golf carts. This is primarily due to the lack of mandated safety gear, however, there is another reason. How golf bags are stored on Finn Scooters.

To elaborate, the two-wheeled device houses the golf bag between the handlebars. As a result, quite a bit of drag is introduced as air is funneled into the bag.

Nevertheless, by having the golf bag tilted forward in such a manner, riders can cart heavy equipment across a course without having to deal with wobble or other related safety issues. Other features are highlighted in the list below.

  • Large tire in front to smooth out ride and add grip for maneuverability
  • Small, wide back tire maximizes torque
  • Two footrests
  • Front and back fenders
  • Kickstand
  • Rear cargo rack
  • 130 Nm of torque
  • Lithium ion battery
  • Hydraulic brakes

Golf cart enthusiasts hoping to get their hands on a Finn Scooter may do so for about $3,500. In addition, the motorcycle golf cart has a wide range of add-on accessories, and is available in the following colors.

  • Apple Green
